CNSM Transfer Students
Welcome to CSULB, the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics (CNSM), and the Jensen Student Access to Science and Mathematics Center! As the newest members of our CNSM community, we want help you acclimate to life at The Beach and be successful during your college years. We have put together a guide, Transfer Student's Passport to Success, designed to help you make a positive start by outlining the many important deadlines and responsibilities required of you.
Transfer students are strongly recommended that you attend Enrollment and Orientation in the Natural Sciences (EONS), which is a program that takes place during specially selected Student Orientation, Advising, and Registration (SOAR) sessions. Summer 2008 EONS dates include Monday, July 21, 2008 or Tuesday, August 12, 2008 (you are required to attend just one of these SOAR sessions). SOAR is the University-sponsored orientation program that all new students are required to attend. EONS, which is a partnership between CNSM and SOAR, is designed to introduce new transfer students to CNSM advisors, faculty, staff, facilities, and resources that will help transfer students be successful at CSULB.
Why should CNSM transfer students attend EONS? This college-specific SOAR date is exclusively for CNSM majors; you'll meet with other incoming CNSM majors, be advised by CNSM faculty, and learn about the programs, resources, and services that will help you during your journey at CSULB. If you have not done so already, you are encouraged to register for EONS since it is specifically geared toward new transfer students majoring in the sciences and mathematics. See below for information regarding SOAR registration.
How to Register for EONS? You are automatically registered for EONS when you register for SOAR on either Monday, July 21, 2008, or Tuesday, August 12, 2008. Spaces are limited, so register for EONS/SOAR by June 1st.
