MARC is a special research training support program of the National Institutes of Health.
The goals of the program are to increase the numbers and capabilities of minority scientists
engaged in biomedical research. Each applicant should have completed 60 semester units at the
time of application, have an overall and science GPA of 3.0 or higher, be a member of the ethnic
minorities targeted by the program, and demonstrate strong potential for graduate studies and a
career in the biomedical sciences. Each MARC Scholar will be reimbursed for tuition, fees, and
approved expenditures, and receive a monthly stipend (not to exceed twenty-four months).
