Health Professions Advising Office (HPAO)

The Health Professions Advising Office (HPAO) provides a wide range of advising and support services designed to meet the needs of CSULB students as they navigate through the often-complex process of preparation and application to professional school. HPAO serves students interested in pursuing graduate level health professions including medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, optometry, veterinary, physician assistant, physical therapy, graduate nursing, and public health. Our office is located in the Jensen Student Access to Science (SAS) and Mathematics Center. Please visit or contact the office to schedule an advising appointment. Fall 2010 Semester Advising Hours

(August -30 - September-10)

Drop-In Advising for the first two weeks of the semester. We see students on a first come first-serve basis. Drop-In advising sessions are 15-20 minutes long.

(September -13 - December-23)

Students can sign up for appointments using Tungle on September 8th for the week of September 13th. Please return to our website at that time for further instructions.

Information for Postbaccalaureate Students

Thank you for your interest in Post-baccalaureate study at California State University, Long Beach. CSULB accepts applications for a second B.A./B.S. only, from highly qualified applicants to the Direct Entry BSN/MSN program, for Engineering, Math/Natural Sciences majors (excluding Biology majors), and Radiation Therapy majors. Post-baccalaureate students who wish to complete the prerequisites for a health profession program can declare a Natural Sciences major. If you wish to take a few courses but do not want to pursue a second degree as a CSULB student, you may enroll in courses through the College of Continuing and Professional Education, which allows non-matriculated students to enroll in courses with the permission of the instructor through “Open University”.  Extension services also offer summer school sessions for CSULB.  For information on summer sessions or Open University, go to http://www.ccpe.csulb.edu/OpenUniversity/.
