The National Institutes of Health has awarded a program designed to strengthen the relationship that exists between two key community colleges, Long Beach City College and Cerritos Community College, and CSULB. The major focus of this project is to enhance the students’ academic competitiveness. Selected students and faculty spend a summer in CSULB laboratories participating in hands-on research. These experiences also provide a unique opportunity to take advantage of the latest scientific information through special seminars. Bridges students are also provided with individualized mentoring and career advisory activities.
